Statistics South Africa connector: national CPI and product detail.
Stats SA publishes two current zipped workbooks. The COICOP workbook carries the national all-urban aggregate hierarchy from 2008; the detailed workbook carries 391 eight-digit product indices and their expenditure weights. The weights are percentage points and reconcile to 100 in the source, so they are stored as fractions.
The source calls the new hierarchy COICOP 2018. It remains namespaced as `statssa2018` rather than being equated to the archive's COICOP 1999 flow. Every product retains the full published path, including intermediate nodes for which Stats SA does not publish a separate index series.
